MAU’s Mother Agenda
MAU is mobilizing the mamas in 2007 to build three major campaigns, collectively called the Mother Agenda. Those three campains are:
- Protect Our Environment: Preserve our planet.
- Protect Our Global Family: MAU is doing this through the myriad actions that their members across the country perform locally. MAU has also joined a host of other organizations and individuals in championing the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
- The True Cost of War: Measure the impact on children.
MAU is working in coalition with other groups and mamas like YOU to educate our communities and decision makers about these three campaigns. These three campaigns will run through all of MAU’s Web actions, collective actions and field trips.
The Charleston Area Blog’s Contribution
This blog has a couple of objectives:
First, is to serve our Charleston MAUers by keeping them informed about what we are doing here in Charleston.
Second, is to take advantage of the Internet to reach out to my local community and beyond by compiling information that I think is important, informative or moving. I am doing that here for MAU by compiling and organizing articles, songs, art, video, etc. that has something to say about the three agenda items on MAU’s Mother Agenda.
My hope is that by compiling a hodge-podge of different types of information in an interesting and creative way that this blog might make a small contribution to a solution by bringing awareness to others around these important issues. Only through awareness are we inspired to take action. This blog is my action.
